Emraan Hashmi was born in 1979. He had changed his name to Farhaan Hashmi, however stuck to his old name, on grounds of his numerological believes. Hashmi graduated from the Sydenham college.
Hashmi debut was with the movie “Footpath”, in the year 2003. However the movie did not do well in the box office. In the following year, the movie “Murder” shot him to fame. His subsequent films, “Zeher”, “Kalyug”, and “Gangster”, were huge hits in the box office. His movies were known for their soundtracks and became an instant hit with the people.
On the screen, Emraan Hashmi owns the “serial kisser” image. He is known for his kiss scenes and people find him very sensuous in those scenes. However, nowadays he wants to give up that image and take up more serious roles. The actor has always been surrounded by rumours because of such scenes in the movie. His latest flick is Awaarapan, with female lead Shriya. The actor has also expressed a desire to star in fantasy and horror movies. It is this desire of his, that made him sign a movie in which he plays ghost.
